FRIEND CITY COUNCIL
MINUTES-REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 6, 2015
Mayor Vossler called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall. Advanced notice of the meeting was given by publication in The Sentinel, the appointed method for giving advanced notice. All proceedings shown were taken while the meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Mayor James Vossler presided and City Clerk, Debbie Gilmer, recorded the proceedings. The following Councilmembers were present: Stan Krause, Phyllis Ryan, Shane Stutzman, and Harlan Schrock. A quorum being present and the meeting duly convened, the following proceedings were had and done.
As required by the Nebraska Open Meetings Act, Mayor Vossler announced that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act has been posted on the south door of the City Hall meeting room for all in attendance to review.
Mayor Vossler acknowledged that former Councilman Dan Drake was in attendance, and presented Mr. Drake with a plaque of appreciation. Mr. Drake served as a member of the Friend City Council for two consecutive terms, for a total of eight years.
Mayor Vossler announced that public comments would be received at this time. No comments offered.
Motioned by Schrock, seconded by Krause, to approve the Minutes of the December 1, 2014 regular meeting, and the December 2014 Treasurer's Report as presented and file same. On roll call voting aye to approve the December 1, 2014 regular meeting minutes, and the December 2014 Treasurer's Report, Ryan, Stutzman, Schrock, Krause. Nays none. Motion carried.
No financial reports were submitted for Warren Memorial Hospital.
A motion was made by Ryan, seconded by Stutzman, that payroll and claims be approved by the claims committee, and be allowed, and the Clerk instructed to issue warrants on the respective funds to pay same. On roll call voting aye, Schrock, Krause, Ryan, Stutzman. Nays none. Motion carried.

Utilities Superintendent, Patrick Gates gave his report.
Stan Krause reported on behalf of the Friend Volunteer Fire Department.
Discussion was had regarding a plat submitted by Jim Surber for property that he owns on 2nd and State Street. After consideration, motion was made by Schrock, seconded by Krause, to accept and approve Administrative Plat prepared by L & S Surveying for Lot 204, R.S. Bentley’s Addition, City of Friend, Saline County, Nebraska and to approve to pay the amount of $200 for preparation of said Administrative Plat. On roll call voting aye, Stutzman, Ryan, Krause, Schrock. Nays none. Motion carried.
Discussion was had relating to the regular date and time of the Friend City Council meetings. Motion was made by Stutzman, seconded by Schrock to continue holding the regular meetings of the Friend City Council on the first Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. On roll call voting aye, Krause, Ryan, Schrock, Stutzman. Nays none. Motion carried.
No further business to come before the City Council, motion was made by Krause, seconded by Ryan, to adjourn the meeting. On roll call voting aye, Stutzman, Schrock, Ryan, Krause. Nays none. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
