FRIEND CITY COUNCIL
MINUTES-SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 21, 2011
Mayor Vossler called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. Advanced notice of the meeting was given by publication in The Sentinel, the appointed method for giving advanced notice. All proceedings shown were taken while the meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
The Mayor, James Vossler, presided and City Clerk, Debbie Gilmer, recorded the proceedings. The following Councilmembers were present: Harlan Schrock, Dale Lawver, and Dan Drake. A quorum being present and the meeting duly convened, the following proceedings were had and done.
As required by the Nebraska Open Meetings Act,
Motion was made by Drake, seconded by Lawver, to open the public hearing to accept comments regarding an application for a Retail Class D Liquor License as applied for by Dorothy M. Hamilton, dba First Street Liquor. On roll call voting aye, Schrock, Lawver, Drake. Nays none. Public hearing opened at 5:31 p.m.
Councilman Stan Krause now present.
Mayor Vossler announced that if there were no comments regarding the application for a Retail Class D Liquor License as applied for by Dorothy M. Hamilton, dba First Street Liquor, it was now time to close the public hearing. Motion to close the public hearing was made by Schrock, seconded by Krause. On roll call voting aye, Drake, Lawver, Krause, Schrock. Nays none. Public hearing closed at 5:40 p.m.
Motion was made by Krause, seconded by Schrock, to approve and recommend to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission the application for a Class D Liquor License as applied for by Dorothy M. Hamilton, dba First Street Liquor. On roll call voting aye, Lawver, Drake, Krause, Schrock. Nays none. Motion carried.
With no further business to come before the Council, motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Drake, seconded by Lawver. On roll call voting aye, Schrock, Krause, Lawver, Drake. Nays none. Meeting adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
